ChatGPT has a new image generator
OpenAI has released image generation using the GPT-4o model in ChatGPT, moving from separate text and image models to an integrated approach. GPT-4o replaced the previous image generator DALL-E 3.
The details
- According to OpenAI, the new model has improved image generation and editing. It can follow instructions more accurately and has improved contextual awareness and text rendering.
- In addition, the new model can generate diagrams, menus, and infographics with accurate text content, which was a weakness of the previous model.
- Users can now edit images using prompts, for example, for design ideas. OpenAI labels all generated images in the metadata using the open standard C2PA to verify the origin of a photo.
- The new capabilities are available for Plus, Pro, Team, and Free users. Enterprise and Edu users are coming soon.
