Gemma 4 - Intelligence for Everyone
Recently, Google DeepMind introduced Gemma 4, an open-source model family. It is built for advanced reasoning and agentic workflows. Let’s take a close look at it.

The details
-
According to Google, the new models are multimodal, making them well-suited for agentic workflows, reasoning, coding, and multimodal understanding.
-
Gemma 4 comes in four sizes (2B, 4B, 26B, 31B parameters). In addition, the models has a 128K (2B and 4B) and 256K (26B and 31B) token context window and are trained on over 140 languages.
-
According to Google, Gemma 4 outcompetes models 20x its size. So, developers can save computing resources without sacrificing performance.
-
Gemma 4 is released under an open-source Apache 2.0 license. The new models are available on Hugging Face and Ollama.

Our thoughts
From our perspective, the introduction of Gemma 4 marks a turning point for open-source models. It is one of the first open-source model that supports vision, tool calling, thinking, and audio in a single model.
Ideal for agentic workflows. Thanks to Gemma 4, you can now use a more powerful model in combination with OpenClaw - 24/7 with no API costs.
