Top AI news of the week
🤖 Microsoft wants to transform every business process with AI agents
At Microsoft Ignite 2024, the company announced new AI features for its products. The main focus was on AI agents.
The details:
- The new Copilot Actions enables users to automate everyday tasks. For example, you specify a prompt to automatically receive a summary of your most important tasks at the end of each workday. (In private preview)
- With Copilot Studio, you can create, manage, and connect agents to Copilot. In addition, Microsoft introduces agents in Microsoft 365. The company plans to develop many more pre-defined AI agents.
- The Interpreter agent in Teams will offer a real-time translation feature during meetings. (Public preview in early 2025)
- Next year, Copilot in PowerPoint will be able to translate entire presentations into different languages while preserving the design of each slide.
Our thoughts
AI agentic systems are the future, and Microsoft has understood this. They will integrate AI agents into all software products, so tedious tasks could soon be a thing of the past.
In addition, we think that AI agents will be an integral part of software products in 2025. For this reason, we plan to write more articles about the implementation of AI agents on our blog. In this context, we will show you how to implement AI agents with frameworks like AutoGen.

💻 OpenAI is working on a Google Chrome rival
According to reports, OpenAI plans to develop a web browser with integrated ChatGPT. OpenAI also wants to offer search features for partner websites.
The details:
- OpenAI has already hired its first employees from the browser market, including a chief developer from Firefox.
- OpenAI has established partnerships with major publishers and platforms so they have access to exclusive data.
- According to reports, the new browser should be part of a Natural Language Web (NLWeb). OpenAI wants to change the web so that you can interact with websites in the same way as you would with an AI chatbot.
- Open AI recently launched ChatGPT search, which puts them in competition with Perplexity and Google Search.
Our thoughts
We believe it will be a hard challenge for OpenAI to enter the web browser market. If OpenAI really wants to release a web browser, then this browser will probably rely on Google’s Chromium architecture.
Even Microsoft couldn’t establish its own architecture with the Edge browser. The Edge browser now also relies on Chromium.
👉🏽 Do you think OpenAI will release its own web browser? We are excited!

💬 Mistral AI releases a new multimodal model and new free features for Le Chat
The French AI startup Mistral AI has released Pixtral Large, a 124B open-weights multimodal model based on Mistral Large 2.
The details:
- It is a frontier-level image understanding model (for example: documents, charts, and natural images) with 128K context window.
- Pixtral Large outperforms all other state-of-the-art models in analyzing complex mathematical reasoning using visual data.
- The new model extends Mistral Large 2 without affecting its text performance.
- Available via API and HuggingFace
In addition, Mistral AI has added new features to their chatbot “Le Chat“. Best of all, all features are available in beta for free. You can use Le Chat as your creative partner, from web search capabilities to image generation powered by Black Forest Labs Flux Pro.
Our thoughts
Wow, Mistral released an open-weights multimodal model that can compete with the current closed-source models. And they have also expanded their chatbot into a competitive product.
As a beta feature, users can now access many functions that competitors charge for. In addition to familiar features such as web search or image generation, Le Chat now also offers a canvas feature. This makes it possible to create and edit content in real time. OpenAI and Anthropic have also presented similar features.
