The Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) aims to oversee high-risk AI with transparency, risk management, and human review. It also addresses contentious issues like facial recognition use, and allowing law enforcement applications. The act will be officially voted on next year and won't be effective until at least 2025. This model, called a sparse mixture of experts network, can handle multiple languages (English, French, Italian, German and Spanish) and excels in code generation. It can also be finetuned to follow instructions, scoring well on MT-Bench. Despite having 46.7B total parameters, it only uses 12.9B per token, making it efficient in terms of cost and processing speed. Mixtral is pre-trained on data from the open Web.
