ElevenLabs releases a new speech-to-text model
ElevenLabs launched their first speech-to-text model called Scribe. It can transcribe speech in 99 languages.

The details
- ElevenLabs* claims the new speech-to-text model as the world’s most accurate transcription model. In benchmarks, the model outperforms leading models like Whisper Large V3 and Gemini 2.0 Flash.
- Content creators and businesses can access Scribe via the ElevenLabs Dashboard.
- Scribe makes automatic speech recognition universally accessible and reduces errors in languages that are often underserved, like Serbian, Cantonese, and Malayalam. Other models have error rates of over 40% in these languages.
- Scribe is available for developers through ElevenLabs’ Speech-to-Text API, featuring multi-speaker detection, word-level timestamps, and non-speech event markers (such as laughter or music). A low-latency, real-time version will be available soon.

Our thoughts
Scribe is a great tool for content creators and businesses. They can upload audio and video files, and the model generates transcriptions. This tool makes it possible to generate transcriptions of podcasts or YouTube videos more accurately than ever before.
We have been following ElevenLabs from the start and are thrilled with how accurate their models are. ElevenLabs offers tools for large and small businesses. Try out the tools from ElevenLabs* for yourself.
