🤖 OpenAI releases DALL-E 3
OpenAI has released the third version of its generative AI visual art platform, DALL-E, which now includes integration with ChatGPT and more safety options. Users can now use ChatGPT to create prompts for DALL-E, making it easier for those who struggle to come up with detailed prompts.
The new version also includes robust safety measures to prevent the creation of explicit or hateful images, and it has been trained to decline generating images in the style of living artists. Moreover, OpenAI is also allowing artists to opt their art out of future versions of text-to-image AI models to avoid potential lawsuits. OpenAI plans to release DALL-E 3 to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise users first (in October), followed by research labs and its API service.

🚀 Deci introduces DeciDiffusion
DeciDiffusion 1.0 is a text-to-image latent diffusion model that outperforms Stable Diffusion v1.5 in terms of efficiency and quality. It achieves equal image quality in 40% fewer iterations and is 3x faster than Stable Diffusion v1.5 when combined with the Inference SDK, Infery.
DeciDiffusion’s architecture (U-Net-NAS) is more streamlined and efficient than the traditional U-Net component. The model was trained using specialized techniques to shorten training time and generate high-quality images in fewer iterations.
DeciDiffusion’s efficiency leads to cost savings and reduced carbon emissions, making it a more sustainable option. The model is available for free download and can be used in various generative AI applications.

In times of climate change, the tech industry also has a responsibility to the environment. DeciDiffusion’s efficiency ensures drastic reductions in carbon emissions. Specifically, each model instance on the A10G GPU reduces annual CO2 emissions by approx. 300 kg. In the future, it will be increasingly important to combine performance optimization and sustainable practices.

💬 Amazon announces new version of Alexa
Amazon has announced that Alexa will use a new generative AI model to enhance the experiences of its Echo devices. The model is optimized for voice and aims to provide more conversational interactions, taking into account body language and gestures. It will also give Alexa a more opinionated personality.
The new model can adjust its tone and response to express emotions like affirmation and excitement. While Alexa could do this to some extent before, the new model adds more nuance to the assistant’s reactions.
Our thoughts
Voice assistants like Alexa and Siri often only give primitive answers. There is an urgent need to integrate generative AI into these products. This step will increase the usefulness of such assistants immensely.
